My name is Mst. Asmary Sultana, and I am a Fashion Design student. I am presenting a design project inspired by Gaza and the universal message of peace. Our concept is called “Path of Peace.” This design was c ... reated as a team project to express hope, humanity, and solidarity with the people affected by war and conflict. I used suit fabric as the base material and enhanced it with thread work, beads, and embroidery to add texture and meaning to the garment. One of the most important symbols in my design is the dove, which represents peace, freedom, and a hopeful future. Every detail of this garment was carefully designed to tell a story. The embroidery symbolizes resilience, the beads represent tears and hope, and the dove reflects the dream of a peaceful world. Through this design, i want to remind people that fashion is more than clothing; it is a powerful medium for storytelling, awareness, and social change. As designers, I believe creativity can spread messages of compassion, unity, and peace across the world. Our project, “Path of Peace,” is a tribute to humanity and a call for a future where every person can live in safety, dignity, and peace.

I am presenting a Design Nova outfit under the Concept “শান্তির পথে“: - My design is inspired by the theme "শান্তির পথে " reflecting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the universal hope for peace. Through intricate ... hand embroidery, I illustrated ships carrying food and humanitarian aid across the sea, symbolizing the global efforts to deliver life-saving assistance to the people of Gaza. I made my dress in a white and sky shade colour that symbolised sea. Arabic hand crochet embroidery (from river to the sea, palastine will be free) is delicately incorporated into the design, representing the silent cries, hunger, pain, dowa and resilience of millions of innocent lives affected by war. The flowing waves of the sea are blended with the colors of the sky, expressing hope, compassion, and the belief that peace can rise even after the darkest storms. To further strengthen the message, the Palestinian flag is artistically represented through the mask attach scarf, standing as a symbol of identity, dignity, resilience, and the enduring dream of freedom. Every stitch of this garment carries a message of humanity, unity, and the collective responsibility to stand for peace. Thank you

I chose fashion because I believe clothing is not only about style — it is a language to express emotions, stories, and social realities. Through fabric, stitches, and forms, I can express feelings that words sometimes c ... annot. Our department organized a fashion show titled “Fashion Nova”, which helped us improve our creativity, skills, and confidence as designers. The theme of this show was “শান্তির পথে” — The Path of Peace. Through my design, I wanted to represent a painful reality in a positive way — not through violence, but through healing and hope. I used Spider Lily and White Lily as symbolic elements, representing peace, purity, loss, and the journey of the soul. They remind us that even after destruction, life continues to seek peace. The hand stitching in my design represents repair — showing that everything broken can be fixed. My use of patches also reflects sustainability, symbolizing that damaged pieces can be renewed and given a new life. The words “Boundless Soul” represent a spirit that cannot be limited by suffering. “No Violence” is my silent message for peace, while “Freedom,” “Hope,” and “The Time Is Now” express resilience and the need for change. This design is my contribution as a fashion student — a reminder that healing is possible, peace matters, and fashion can become a voice for change. Through fashion, I choose hope.

My design is a menswear look inspired by the theme "শান্তির পথে" The outfit consists of a double-breasted trench coat, a full-sleeve t-shirt, painted trousers, and a handmade accessory. The focal point of the design i ... s the trench coat, where the back panel features hand embroidery created with white thread. At the center of the embroidery, I included the quote, "Every name is a heartbeat that deserves peace," emphasizing the value of human life and the importance of peace. The inner t-shirt features the hand-painted word "Unbroken," representing resilience and hope. The trousers were enhanced with a crackle paint effect to create visual texture and symbolize the challenges and struggles that people endure during times of conflict. To complete the look, I designed a handmade watermelon-inspired brooch using moldit clay, acrylic paint, and resin. This accessory was added as a subtle visual element that connects with the overall concept of the collection. The design combines hand embroidery, hand painting, and accessory development to communicate a message of remembrance, resilience, and peace while maintaining a contemporary menswear aesthetic.

Design Nova Story – “শান্তির পথে | On the Path of Peace” This dress represents a journey — a journey towards peace, strength, and self-awareness. এই outfit-এর base হিসেবে আমি black fabric ব্যবহার করেছি, because blac ... k symbolizes silence, depth, and emotional balance. শান্তির আগে যেমন একটা নীরবতা থাকে, তেমনি কষ্টের মধ্য দিয়েই মানুষ নিজের শক্তিকে খুঁজে পায়। Back side-এ থাকা eye motifটি represents emotion, honesty, power, and consciousness. এই চোখটি বোঝায় নিজের ভেতরের সত্যকে দেখা এবং অনুভব করা — the beginning of inner peace and clarity. Dress-এর মধ্যে যে fire elements ব্যবহার করেছি, they symbolize positivity, confidence, energy, and transformation. This fire is not destruction — it is the fire of growth and courage. It shows rising from darkness into light. Red macramé thread দিয়ে তৈরি হাতগুলো represent self-protection and inner strength. এগুলো বোঝায় নিজের সীমা তৈরি করা এবং নিজেকে ভালোবাসা — standing strong for yourself. Sleeves-এর hand stitch-এ লেখা “Free” শব্দটি reflects creativity and individuality. It means freedom of expression and being true to yourself. ✨ Closing Line This outfit shows that peace is not weakness — peace is power, awareness, and confidence within yourself. This is not just a dress. This is a story of strength on the path of peace.

This piece is titled “She Wears the Fire of Palestine.” It represents the strength and resilience of Palestine’s people— who rise from ashes, unbroken and unafraid. The white gown symbolizes innocence and purity, w ... hile the burnt edges and holes reflect the destruction and scars of genocide.the scars left by bombings and fire. Yet despite being burned even in ruin, it stands tall as a symbol of endurance. The veil, embroidered and burned by hand, carries the words: “She wears the fire of Palestine — Unforgotten, Unafraid, Fierce.” Every element — from fabric sourcing, pattern making, sewing, burning, to embroidery — has been done by me to embody both fragility and strength. This creation is a tribute to Palestine, to beauty born from pain, and to survival as an act of strength — and to Palestine, which still stands, fierce amid the flames.

"Shantir Pothe" is a wearable story of suffering, resilience, and hope. Inspired by the humanitarian impact of the Palestine war, this design transforms pain into a visual language. It reflects the journey from conflict ... and loss toward peace, healing, and human dignity. I created this design to raise awareness about the human consequences of war and to express solidarity with innocent people affected by conflict. Rather than focusing on politics, the garment focuses on humanity—showing pain, resilience, and the enduring hope for peace. Through textile manipulation, embroidery, and symbolic color placement, I wanted to transform a global tragedy into a visual message that encourages empathy, reflection, and a collective desire for a more peaceful future. Color Story White symbolizes peace, innocence, purity, and the universal desire for harmony. Red represents bloodshed, sacrifice, grief, and the human cost of war. Black symbolizes destruction, mourning, trauma, and the darkness created by conflict. The contrast between these colors creates a visual dialogue between violence and hope. Front Design The abstract black and white form trapped within red thread structures symbolizes people caught in cycles of conflict. The red threads resemble wounds, bloodlines, and emotional scars that continue beyond the battlefield. The crossing threads create a sense of restriction and tension, representing how war limits freedom, safety, and human connection. Sleeve Details The black stitched grid pattern on the sleeves resembles barriers, borders, fences, and divided territories. It reflects the physical and emotional boundaries created by war. Back Message "I chose the phrase 'Woven with Pain, Draped in Hope' to express how communities affected by war carry deep scars while still holding onto hope for peace. The garment tells a story of suffering and resilience, reminding us that even in the darkest moments, humanity continues to dream of a brighter future." "Shantir Pothe is a reminder that behind every conflict are human lives, dreams, and stories. Through threads of pain and colors of hope, this design represents the journey from suffering toward peace, proving that even in darkness, hope can still be woven into the future."

Fashion has always inspired me because it allows me to express ideas and emotions through design. As a fashion design student, I believe that every outfit should tell a story. I use fashion as a tool to tell stories and raise awareness of social issues. My design was influenced by the humanitarian struggles taking place around the world, particularly the situation in Palestine. Rather than us ... ing direct symbols or slogans, I chose to communicate this message through colors, materials, textures, and garment construction. As part of an Autumn/Winter collection, I created a jacket and skirt using corduroy and velvet fabrics. Metal chains were added as a key design element to symbolize oppression, restriction, and resilience. The color palette and details of my design carry symbolic meaning. The red tones represent sacrifice, suffering, and the human cost of conflict. The black elements reflect grief and mourning. The beaded pathway running through the garment symbolizes a journey of endurance, hope, and the pursuit of peace. The chain details highlight the challenges faced by people living under conflict while also representing resistance and determination. As a fashion designer, my role was to transform an emotional and social message into a wearable piece of art. Throughout the design process, I hope to show that fashion is more than aesthetics. It is a powerful form of communication that can raise awareness, inspire conversation, and encourage people to reflect on themes of peace, humanity, and resilience.
